Tennis Lessons
are Life Lessons.

They can also improve your game.

From my tennis journey on the pro tour to director of the No. 1 tennis resort in the world, I’m sharing a preview of my new book, Point of Impact, as well as tips to improve your game.

I’ve spent my whole life in the world of tennis — first in the juniors, then in college, then on the men’s professional tennis tour. After retiring from the pro tour, I became director of the new Kiawah Island Resort, growing it for the next 40 years into the #1 tennis resort in the world. Along the way I’ve learned valuable lessons — some to improve my game on the court and some to improve my life off the court. Interestingly, many of these lessons are the same.

If you want to elevate your tennis game, this site is for you. Check out my teaching blog and publications dedicated to teaching tennis. Your game will thank you.

If you are interested in my story — in particular how lessons on the court translate into business and life success — this site is also for you. Click here to read an excerpt from my upcoming book, Point of Impact. Be sure to purchase a copy.

Enjoy the game!

Dream it.

My friend Johnny and I used to watch the pros play and dream about being as good as they were.

Play it.

Bjorn Borg and I played five sets at the U.S. Open in 1973. It was one of the best matches of my pro career.

Teach it.

In 2006, the anniversary of my 30th year as Director of Tennis, Kiawah Island Resort named its Tennis Center after me.

Write it.

Point of Impact, my upcoming book, illustrates how lessons I learned on the court proved valuable in business and in life.
